What a Rollercoaster!

So, it looks like June 11th might not work for the five doctors afterall. And, it just may be the case that there is not a single day in June that they all can be in one place. I feel like I'm on the Sea Dragon! Bubba, can you please yell "STOP!" now?

I Am Mildly Terrified

The good news is that little Dissy's entire team is now assembled--five of the finest doctors in the country, I might add. The scary news is that I also have real, hard date to bring little Dissy into the world. June 11th is the big day, whether we're ready or not.

It's such an honor to be able to do this, but I am having serious anxiety. What if I mess up and disappoint everyone!? What if the doctors discover that little Dissy is fatally deformed!? What if--heaven forbid--I decide I don't like her once she's born!?

Before I hyperventilate, I will try to remember my father's brilliant advice given to me as he drove me to school one day when I was in 3rd grade. I was seriously concerned about the pressures facing me that day (I was a sober child), and he gave me the kind of advice only a wise father can: "1) Just do one thing at a time, 2) Do your best, and 3) Don't worry too much about what other people think." Oh Dad, you know me so well!

Good News!!!

Dr. Zaller just agreed to be there for Little Dissy's birth. He's a world-renowned specialist, so we're in good hands!

Update on Little Dissertation

As many of you know little Dissy and I have gone through a particularly long and difficult gestation period. But, we went in for a check-up today and got all good news! She's developing on track now and even has a tentative due date of June 18th. I'm nervous about the process of bringing her into the world, but I'll get some good coaching over the next few weekly checkups. Dr. Bawn is going to guide me through the whole process, and I really like her. It's a very exciting time, and I can hardly believe it's almost here! Here are some pictures:

So far my ankles haven't swollen!

My back and shoulders do hurt sometimes, though. Anybody know a good massage therapist?
Here's a closeup!
None of these pictures really capture little Dissy's growth quite right, but don't worry, I'll be posting lots more pictures. I can't wait to get pictures of little Dissy's first Summer Solstice!
